Umiak is seeking a hardworking and unique individual to be a part of our rapidly growing program department. This full-time seasonal job will keep you busy all summer. This position entails being as knowledgeable with a computer/phone as it does with a boat and a paddle. This position demands teamwork, customer service skills, and a willingness to learn.

Job Responsibilities:

• Serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately

• Making rental and program reservations on a point-of-sale system

• Educate customers about the surrounding area, boating equipment, and Umiak programs

• Transferring calls to the appropriate departments

• Supporting program staff at our multiple locations

• Maintaining the organization of rentals and equipment

• Using strong communication skills to interact with customers and staff

• Taking direction and being able to work independently

• Organizational skills, multi-tasking, and attention to detail

• Facilitating rentals of canoes, kayaks, SUPs, and tubes

• Assist retail department when needed

Work Hours & Benefits This position is 9-6 but varies on the time of year and holidays. This position typically runs from mid-May to late September/October. An ideal candidate would be available for the extent of that time frame.
